The Molinari Quartet is proud to present to you its Sixth season of concerts in Montreal. World premieres and well established works from the repertoire for string quartet are on the menu.

Our Sixth season will have you discover a new generation of composers. The four winning composers of our First International Composition Competition, selected by a jury from 222 scores from 39 countries, will be performed at our first concert of the season. Two young Canadian composers Marc Hyland and Kelly-Marie Murphy will also be played during the year. The Molinari Quartet will also extend its Bartók string quartet cycle by performing the Second and Third quartets.

In co-production with the Montréal nouvelles Musiques festival, the magic of colours, musical and visual will seduce you with string quartets by Russian composer Sofia Gubaidulina and Canadian R. Murray Schafer. Finally, the Molinari Quartet offers you as a Christmas gift, the chance to hear once again works that are very dear to the musicians of the ensemble. For the first time on stage together, the renowned pianist Louise Bessette and the Molinari Quartet will perform the Shostakovich piano quintet.
